Bambino Coffee Bar sits on a busy corner at the intersection of Banksia Street and Oriel Road in Ivanhoe, offering a reliably good coffee fix for early risers and casual catch-ups. Locals often stop by before heading to nearby Ford Park or as a mid-morning break, drawn by the cafe’s approachable vibe and the use of quality beans, likely from Five Senses, which come through in well-extracted, not overly hot cups.

The space is compact but welcoming, with a casual, neighborhood feel that suits both quick solo visits and relaxed chats over coffee. The staff tend to be friendly and efficient, keeping up with busy weekend mornings without losing that easygoing atmosphere. While there isn’t hot food on offer yet, the focus here is clearly on coffee and light bites—croissants bring a reasonably buttery note without being overly flaky, and the cabinet features a tempting array of cakes and pastries, including some gluten-free options. It’s the kind of spot where the cake might disappear before you even get a photo.

Dog owners appreciate Bambino’s pet-friendly touches, like a doggy treat station and water bowl outside, making it a natural stop on a morning walk. Parking is convenient enough with angle spots right out front, which adds to the place’s accessibility for locals popping in before work or for weekend treats.

Best times to visit are early mornings from 6:30am when they open, or a busy but comfortable Saturday brunch hour. The atmosphere balances a local buzz without feeling cramped, and the space fits neatly into this leafy residential area as a straightforward, no-fuss coffee option. If you’re after a quick high-quality cup, a simple pastry, and a low-key spot to pause in Ivanhoe, Bambino Coffee Bar handles that routine well.

Finally a great coffee spot in the area! Coffee is great, nicely extracted, pretty good beans, not too hot. 8/10 Croissant is above average, reasonable buttery flavour, but not super flakey, 7/10 Hope to be back! Thanks to the friendly staff.

Cute little local, conveniently close to Ford Park, with great coffee and a cabinet full of tempting treats. Dog-friendly with doggy treats and water bowl. Adequate angle parking right outside too and they're open from 6:30am!

I've started coming to this local café. Coffee is perfect. Food is great for a little bite. Vibes are immaculate. Perfect for a coffee catch up, or just a space to take a break by yourself. (Cake was too good to survive until the photo op...)

Came on a Saturday morning and it was busy but comfortable! Fast service - lots of cakes available including some gluten free options, no hot food though as yet (unsure if they will in future). Great coffee - believe they use Five Senses beans. Will be back!

Very nice coffee, whether hot or iced. Nice bliss ball too. Food options are a bit restricted but that may change as they become established here. Service was excellent throughout - friendly and efficient. This cafe is a fantastic and very welcome addition to this area

What a gem of a cafe’ in an unexpected location. Was recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. Great coffee, they really nailed the Magic I had and great treats. I couldn’t make up my mind about what to have so ordered a coffee only but in a great gesture the owner brought out one of their cronuts on the house! Will definitely be back.
